This is my current collection- Hawker Typhoon, F14D SuperTomcat and Sukhoi Su30 FlankerG

Kinja'd!!!

Just finished the F14 today. It is a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! VF-101 Grim Reapers kit.

I wouldn’t say I am an expert at this mainly because I lack patience but I thoroughly enjoy doing them even if they are not 100% perfect.

I had several kits over the years but many of them were damaged when I moved. I have had these aircraft in 1:144 or 1:72 scale-

A10 Warthog, AH64D apache Longbow, F111 Aardvark, B2 Spirit, A4 Skyhawk, Messerschmitt Bf 109, Mig 23 Flogger, F4u Corsair, P51D, Panavia Tornado, Mig 29 Fulcrum

Those are pretty neat. I'm not into it these days, but I made a handful of them back when I was in high school. Perhaps the LaLD crowd would enjoy them.

I love model aircraft when I was a child. I used to hang them in my ceiling so it looked like a sky full of aircraft. Now I have like one or two laying around after selling them or throwing them away. I still need to put together that Model Power “Black Bunny” F-4J Phantom.

My models never quite lived up to my expectations. This was literally me.

I’ve got a B-26 and an F/A-18 that I started about 20 years ago. Have never gotten back to them.

One of my problems is I don’t have space for a 1/72 scale so I end up getting a 1/144 and my big fat fingers make all the delicate precision work so frustrating.

Hasn’t stopped me though. I think this will be the last one for a while.

I had a B-25 and and A-10 that turned out pretty nice, (and a bunch that didn’t..)

The A-10 kit was my absolute favorite and remains one of my favorite aircraft of all time. I built this exact Academy kit about 10 years back and it’s probably in a box in the attic somewhere with a bunch of broken/missing parts

I have a bunch of older aircraft I don’t have pictures of (various Blackbirds in 1/72; KC-97, B-47, 52G, 52H, 1A, 1B, 2 in 1/144; three U-2s in 1/48; 3 V-22s; etc), but I’ve also got my SF3D collection:

For some reason mom made me put down paper before gluing together a model on the kitchen table. No idea why, but the paper was a pain when it got glued to everything. Once it was time for the paint and decals it turned into a real gong show. Turns out I have absolutely no artistic skills.

I the F- 14 sitting on my desk at work right now is the Revel 1:144 , probably built it 20+ years ago when I worked for Grumman. One of my favorites, nice job!
